Life with Lives
Human existence is intricately woven with flora and fauna. Every thread of this connection enhances the beauty of the fabric that is Earth. All I Have Is Them explores the profound relationship between humanity and other living organisms ( Flora and Fauna) “I” is rooted in them—without this connection, “I” stands like a withered tree. They play a vital role in “I’s” life. From the womb to the tomb, “I” depends on them.
This book is divided into two parts. The first part highlights the positive aspects of All I Have Is Them, focusing on how flora and fauna support and sustain us. The second part delves into the destruction caused by human selfishness, emphasizing the negative impact of “I” on them. “Throughout the book, the importance of ecology is emphasized. Human beings must RESPECT God’s creation and be RESPONSIBLE for it.” — Fr Silvestre D’Souza OCD Provincial Superior

Cannio Cardozo is a Carmelite priest from Goa, India. He has worked closely with young minds as a vocation promoter, youth director, and high school chaplain.

Discover the sacred bond between humanity, flora, and fauna. All I Have Is Them reveals beauty, dependence, and responsibility in sustaining Earth’s fragile harmony.

While humanity has been greatly blessed, there are times when we act as if we are entirely ruled by impulse. We fall short in the discretion of gravity of the bond between the self and the worldly entities. Though being primarily cognitive organisms, in times of panic, dread, and anxiety—such as the COVID-19 pandemic—we become irrational and function only according to instinct.
Musing on these events inspired author Cannio Cardozo to record his thoughts and reflections on humankind’s recent actions. All I Have Is I presents an introspection of life, filled with striking examples from daily life, relevant parables, and summarizing poems at the end of each chapter. Part 1 deals with “I” in relation to worldly entities and the power of self-worth, while part 2 considers the obsession one has with the self, which results in the breakdown of relationships due to arrogance. When all is said and done, divine intervention plays a vital role in the transformation of the individual.
“It is a book worth reading and reflecting upon because of its investigation and exploration of the world that is wrapped within each self.”
— Rev. Dr. Pius James D’Souza, OCD, provincial superior
“This work contains a beautiful insightful perception of the ‘self’ commonly perceived as the ‘I’ and its multifarious interaction with worldly entities.”
— Rev. Jerald D’Souza, OCD, provincial delegate

No one is a pond of stagnant water. If that were the case, we’d dry out and any life inside of us would die. To thrive, we must be like the running water of a river, which mingles with others and promotes life.
All I Have is You is about how we are all rooted together. Each one of us plays a vital role in the lives of those who surround us. From womb to tomb, we must help each other.
The first part of this book highlights the negative, highlighting how it is human nature to be envious of the physical features, talents, and possessions of others.
The second part of the book explores the importance each one of us plays in the lives of those around us. Each chapter includes a poem that delves deeper into the
human condition.
The author also explores the concept of self-realization, which is the starting point of inner happiness. When a person identifies his or her strengths, it shows in their level of contentment.
“This is a thought-provoking work that invites reflection as well as discussion.”
— Rev. Silvestre D’Souza, OCD, provincial superior
